The nurse training simulator's time has come or it will never come
The use of simulated experiences that correctly recreate crucial
characteristics of a scenario may be utilised instead of actual ones to broaden
and replace authentic experiences. Simulated learning and skill development are
thus necessary for high quality learning and skill development.
With five Simulation Laboratory boxes, CSIS has the latest
technology, mannequins, specialised software and cinematography and projection
systems as well as a range of areas for skill development and knowledge
application.
As in an intensive care unit, the equipment in this section
comprises multiparametric monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and perfusion
pumps (ICU). The Nursing Training
Simulator works well in this environment as well.
A variety of mannequins and treatment carts are available, as well
as specialised modules for breast examinations, wound simulation, arms and
thorax for venous punctures, aspirators and other operations. ICU (inpatient
care facility): This area has four adjustable beds where you can learn anything
from the most basic medical procedures to those that are the most difficult.
Children's Unit
Paediatrics have access to tools like the VitalSim baby manikin (a
dummy designed specifically for children) and other equipment. A birth
simulator and two infant cradles are also available (PROMPT).
Serve a place that has been set up to be both hospital- and
non-hospital-scale ready for service. For advanced cardiopulmonary
resuscitation, it contains an adult manikin. For neonatal care, it has a baby
manikin named Newborn Anne. Other features include stretchers, a monitor and a
genuine and training defibrillator. There's also an electrocardiograph.
Primary care appointments, both inpatient and outpatient
In this appointment, you will have access to the advanced medical
equipment found in a Primary Care Center.
What are the views of instructors and students on the simulation
facility?
Using simulation as a teaching technique was difficult for
first-year BSN students in the first quarter. Before using this strategy,
instructors must undergo simulation training and abandon the
"theoretical-practical" class structure.
