To assess the
effect of using a simulated patient to facilitate substantial acquisition of
the procedural content "cures" and the application of this learning
in clinical practice. Components and methods: The research was intended as a
quantitative, quasi-experimental comparison study.
Appropriate Use
In one group of
60 first-year nursing students, the simulated patient was utilized; in another
group of 60 students, conventional instruction was used. Following that, the
technique was tested in actual practise with a real patient in both groups.
Results: In terms of student perceptions, both groups agreed on the necessity
of using particular teaching methods such as simulation. There were substantial
variations in the levels of knowledge, abilities, and performance of the
technique across the groups. In the intervention group, performance improved.
