What Kind of Use Nursing Training Manikins Has?
The sequence
briefing gives the learner all the elements necessary for understanding the
simulated situation. The presentation of the following elements is carried out chronologically:
·
a reminder and summary of the
context;
·
the objective of the sequence;
·
information on the scenario
context;
·
the initial state of the
patient or even the anamnesis;
·
the evolution of the patient's
clinical state and / or the context;
·
The role and their
distribution: trainers (observer, facilitator, actor), learner (s).
The simulation session
It responds to a
precise scenario written in a "story board". At this stage, the
learner “plays his own role” in the face of a concrete situation. It is training
or learning experience that will promote debriefing. You can choose the Nursing Training Manikins in this case.
The sequence debriefing
After a break
between the simulation session and the session debriefing, which allows
learners to take a step back from the simulated situation, this step promotes
the development of clinical reasoning and judgment skills through reflective
practice. The debriefing is the most important step of the simulation session.
The debriefing has five phases (more or less one):
Expression of feelings:
expression of impressions, feelings, emotions (benevolence, “here, we could be
wrong” management of stress and failure to be kept in mind).
The descriptive phase:
verbalization of facts, choices, modalities of actions, intentions.
the analysis phase:
exploration of the reasons for the actions carried out or not carried out,
research of reasoning and decisions (the whole group can intervene, video
feedback possible, risk of probable conflict);
Synthesis: request for
synthesis to the learners of the actions carried out and possible changes in
view of this situation, feedback from the trainer (in connection with his
expertise) (reflexive attitude sought and +/- search for new learning
objectives);
The contribution
of theoretical links (+/-): links with concepts, recommendations, good practices...
General debriefing
It consists,
among other things, in carrying out an overall synthesis by the trainer of the
learning achieved to promote questioning.
